Electricity Project

Objective: Your team will design and construct an electric house with separate series,
parallel, a 2-way switch and a combination circuit.
The house will consist of one or two stories. Each house will contain at least the
following areas: one bedroom, one bathroom, a kitchen, a porch, a front door,
and a living room/dining area.
Each individual room will be illuminated by its own lights.
Materials: Your team will provide the materials needed for the house frame,
glue, additional tools, decorations, furniture, and the batteries.
You will receive: light bulbs, insulated wire, buzzer, two switches,
wire strippers, electrical tape/10 caps

Scoring rubric: The score of your project consists of 320 points. 160 points will be
with a group; 160 points will be individually earned. The points are divided into
4 parts.

I. Group project: the house: 55 points
Meeting minimum construction requirements:
neat house assembly, four rooms, and a porch: 10 points
successfully meeting series circuit minimum requirements
(3 series bulbs that light): 10 points
successfully meeting parallel circuit minimum requirements
(3 parallel bulbs that light): 20 points
successfully meeting complex (combination) circuit minimum requirements
(2 parallel and 1 series circuit): 25 points
successfully meeting 3-way switch requirement: 15 points
successful wiring doorbell ec 10

II. Documentation: 60 points
A circuit diagram for each of the 4 circuits. All voltage drops and ammeter splits
must be shown and documented with work.
